COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was killed in a shooting on the city’s east side Sunday morning, according to Columbus police.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at an apartment complex located off Noe Bixby Road shortly before 6 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found one person with a gunshot wound. This man was taken to Mount Carmel East in critical condition and later died.

A lieutenant told 10TV at the scene that the victim and the suspect got into an argument. The suspect then shot the victim, drove down the street, called police and waited for officers to arrive.

Columbus police said the man was taken into custody.
