Eastbound lanes of I-70 are closed at I-670 while police investigate the shooting.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – At least one person was injured Monday afternoon in a shooting on Interstate 70 west of downtown Columbus.

In areo I-70 and I-71 on the report of a shot.

Upon arrival, police officers found two people in a car that had stopped on the road.

The driver of the vehicle was shot in the shoulder, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital in what police described as a “stable” condition.

The passenger in the car is being evaluated at the scene. Police are not sure if that person was injured in the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting and any information on a possible suspect are unclear at this time.

Several exits at the interchange were also closed:

  • SR-315 southbound ramp to I-70 east / I-71 north
  • Transfer from I-71 North to I-70 East/I-71 North
  • Ramp from W Mound St to I-70 East
