COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police say an 8-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot during a dispute in Vineland Park on Saturday night. An 18-year-old woman was also stabbed in connection with the incident.
Police responded to a shooting in a park on Summit Street north of 5th Avenue East around 6:15 p.m.
Officers at the scene told Richard Solomon from 10TV that two groups of people were arguing when someone fired a gun. An 8-year-old girl received beatings and was taken for treatment to a nationwide children’s hospital.
Police added that the woman was stabbed in connection with the dispute. She was taken to Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University and is expected to be fine.
More information about the possible suspect and the reasons for the dispute, officials did not provide.
