Demetrius Howard and Randy Keys had a rough start to the new year after a car crashed into their restaurant on Sunday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Demetrius Howard and Randy Keyes have 2023 planned for their FishBurger restaurant, attracting more customers and putting more smiles on faces.

Their restaurant, located on East Livingston Avenue, opened in October 2021.

“We just put our minds together, he had a great product and I had the funds and we were able to put it together,” Howard said.

They sold their famous fish burger. “We developed a great relationship and met a lot of great people,” he said.

But on Sunday, their new year will get off to a disappointing start.

Howard said he got a call saying a car had crashed into the side of the building.

10TV went to the restaurant, and on Friday it was boarded up and surrounded with police tape.

Howard said that luckily no one was hurt.

The worst part is that this is a family business and their main source of income. They cannot work from Sunday.

Howard said he’s not sure what’s in store for the restaurant in the next few months.

He said they hope that one day they can open the doors again and go back to their dreams.

“As long as we have God in our hearts and community support, we will always be good. It’s just a matter of whether we get back there, which I really hope we do,” Howard said.

They have set up a GoFundMe to help employees during this time. If you want to help, click here.
