RICHLAND COUNTY, OH – One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Richland County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on West Hanley Road near Ellen Avenue in Troy.
Frank Poynter, 68, of Mansfield, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Hanley Road. He drove left of center, lost control, went off the right side of the road, hit several mailboxes and a traffic sign before crashing into a large tree.
Poynter was taken to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital, where he died.
He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, an investigation is underway.
