Toledo police said the man was taken to the hospital with his injuries.

TOLEDO, Ohio – A man was shot in downtown Toledo Tuesday night while working on a car, according to a report from Toledo police.

The 42-year-old victim and a group of friends were working on a car in a garage at 418 Burbank Drive. An unidentified suspect entered the garage at approximately 10:56 p.m. and fired several shots before fleeing the scene. The victim was hit once during the incident. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Dispatchers told police that a friend was taking the victim to the hospital until units arrived. Several shell casings were found at the scene, which the police collected as evidence.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
