COLUMBUS, Ohio – A woman died on Thursday morning in the Far East in Columbus after being hit by a car.
Columbus police were called to the intersection of East Broad Street and Blossom Field Boulevard around 1:50 a.m. on a report of a pedestrian who knocked down a vehicle.
Police said a Chevrolet Sonic was driving in the left east lane of East Broad Street when it got stuck on a woman trying to cross the road west of the intersection.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead shortly before 2 am
According to police, the driver of the car stopped at the scene and was cooperative. Police said the woman did not use the designated pedestrian crossing, and at the time of the accident the driver had a green light.
East Broad Street on Blossom Field has since reopened.
