Amazon’s Prime Day sale in the US is scheduled for next month

Amazon.com Inc on Sunday announced an expected sale for its loyaltyclub shoppers, similar to its summer Prime Day marketing campaign, aimed at boosting holiday revenue and appealing to cost-conscious shoppers facing economic turbulence.

(Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc on Sunday announced an expected sale for loyalty club shoppers, similar to its summer Prime Day marketing campaign, aimed at boosting holiday revenue and appealing to thrifty shoppers facing economic turbulence.

The “Early Access Prime Sale” will begin on October 11 at midnight PDT (07:00 GMT) for 48 hours in 15 countries, according to Amazon.

Vice President Jamil Ghani told Reuters that the rationale behind Amazon’s second event this year was previous holiday shopping and the “macroeconomic environment” customers were facing.

“There is a desire to save and make the dollar stretch further,” he said in an interview.

Ghani declined to offer a revenue forecast for how the event would compare to this fall’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales or to July’s Prime Day.

Members-only sales like these are pushing some customers to buy Prime memberships and shop more on Amazon.
