The Apple iPhone 14 Pro was released earlier this month. Apple previously fixed the camera rattling issue when opening apps like Snapchat.

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro was unveiled earlier this month during Apple’s Far Out event. With the release of the new iPhone 14, people previously complained about rattling in the camera modules, which Apple recently fixed with an iOS update. Now, iPhone 14 Pro users are reporting another problem with their smartphones. Several users have reported that their iPhone 14 Pro intermittently reboots while charging via MagSafe or Lightning.

According to a Reddit post first pointed out by 9to5Mac, multiple users iPhone 14 Pro experience that their device randomly restarts while charging. The first post in the reddit thread was nine days ago. Users report that their iPhone 14 Pro shuts down while charging. “I just got my iPhone 14 Pro and since then I’ve noticed that it restarts when charging (magsafe/cable). I can’t find anything online except that it works as usual. It doesn’t restart at all when the charger is disconnected. Anyone else having similar problems?” the message said.

Another user said his iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.0.1 reboots every 15-20 minutes while charging. Other users of iOS 16.0.2 or even iOS 16.1 beta have reported similar issues with the iPhone 14 Pro. The user also detailed his problem, saying that it only happens when the iPhone 14 is charging between 90% and 95% and the phone is not working. That user, according to a report by 9to5Mac, also said that the only thing that worked was turning off background app updates.

Apple has not yet acknowledged the issue, but the company’s support page has several options that users can try. These include:

  • Full restore from backup with DFU;
  • Full restore from backup with recovery mode;
  • Disable optimized charging;
  • Uninstall the Eufy app

It is not known what exactly could be causing the problem and how many iPhone 14 Pro users are facing this problem. Based on online reports, the problem appears to be quite widespread and seems to only affect the iPhone 14 Pro models.
