Delphos Police Department press release: During the month of April, the Delphos Police Department received 298 calls. Below is a partial list of calls handled for April, excluding traffic accidents, traffic reports, etc.

The police department has a large number of bicycles that have been recovered or surrendered. If you have lost your bike, please come to the police station and describe the bike you lost and we will return it to you.

On 04/01/2023, officers were called to the 700 block of S. Bradyke Street to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

On 04/01/2023, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Marsh Avenue for a report of a verbal altercation between a male and a female.

On February 4, 2023, officers spoke with a man in the 500 block of S. Canal Street who reported that someone had used his identity to open credit card accounts.

On March 4, 2023, a woman called the police department to report that she had witnessed a man urinating outside her home.

On 04/03/2023, the officers were sent to the village 600 block of Spencerville Rd, y a reference to a fight between two minors.

On 04/03/2023, officers received a report of a woman bitten by a dog in the 400 block of S. Canal Street.

On April 4, 2023, officers spoke with a woman in the 900 block of S. Adams Street who reported that her father’s mobile home had been shot with a BB gun.

On April 4, 2023, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Holland Avenue for a burglary complaint. Law enforcement officers found out that the suspect was the resident’s ex-boyfriend and still lives at the residence. During that complaint, it was also alleged that the suspect damaged a vehicle belonging to a friend of the resident.

On May 4, 2023, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lima Avenue for a domestic disturbance.

On 04/05/2023, a man called the police station with a statement about the disappearance of things at his place of residence. The man believed that the contractor, whom he had fired, had taken the things.

On 04/06/2023, the father called the police and informed that his son had left the house. While police officers were looking for the minor, he returned home.

On June 4, 2023, officers were dispatched to Stadium Park for a loud noise complaint. Officers identified those responsible for the noise and advised them to keep the noise down.

On 04/07/2023, a man called the police station with a statement about theft. A man on disability said his SSI check was taken by his recipient.

On July 4, 2023, officers were asked to conduct a well-being check on a woman who had argued with her boyfriend. The female was found and is fine.

On 04/08/2023, a man contacted the police station and reported that he was receiving threats from another man.

On 4-8-2023 officers were dispatched to 412 E. 2ndth St, for trespassing. Officers arrived to find one group had left prior to their arrival.

On 04/09/2023, a man called the police station with reference to the disappearance of things at his place of residence. After talking with the man, it turned out that the items could have been taken by his wife.

On 10/4/2023, a man called the police station and reported that his family was receiving threats on social networks.

On November 4, 2023, officers became aware of an active warrant out of Allen County for Shelby Manir, 32, of Delphos. Mannir was located, taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail.

On November 4, 2023, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of S. Main St.

On November 4, 2023, a woman called the police and reported that her young son was at a friend’s house, and she suspected that he was drinking alcohol. The law enforcement officers discovered that the man was consuming alcohol and also kept tobacco.

On 12-4-2023 officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. 2ndth St, for a theft complaint. There, the man said that someone got into his car and stole something.

On 12-4-2023 officers met with a female who reported that her rental property had been damaged by previous tenants. The woman was informed that it was a civil matter.

4-12-2023 officers were dispatched to the 800 block of N. Main St, for a disturbance. Officers reported that it was only a verbal altercation.

On December 4, 2023, an officer stopped a vehicle and discovered that the passenger, Dominique Goodwin, had an active warrant out of Allen County. Goodwin was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail.

On April 14, 2023, officers met with a male who reported that his medication was lost or stolen. The man demanded a report.

On 04/14/2023, a patrol officer stopped a vehicle. During the traffic stop, police found two unloaded handguns, alcohol and marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, Keaton Schlitter, 19, was taken into custody for possession of a defaced firearm and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

4-15-2023 officers responded to the 400 block of S. Jefferson St, for a dispute. Officers arrived and met with all parties. The man, 40-year-old Chad Lough, was taken into custody for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

On 04/15/2023 officers were dispatched to the 900 block of N. Main St for a report of a stolen moped. Information about the moped was entered into the database of law enforcement agencies as stolen.

On 04/15/2023, officers were sent to the enterprise on Elida Avenue for an unwanted guest. Officers arrived and located the employees and the man causing the disturbance. The male was advised to leave and not return.

On 04/16/2023, officers were dispatched to a residence on the corner of North and State Streets for a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived to find it was only verbal.

On 04/17/2023, an employee of a garbage collection company called to report a possible theft of services.

On 04/18/2023, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Franklin Street for a domestic disturbance.

On April 18, 2023, officers were sent to the 400 block of E.8thousand St, for domestic disorder.

On 04/19/2023, employees were sent to the enterprise in block 200 B.5.thousand St. for an unwanted guest complaint.

On 4/19/2023, officers were dispatched to the Water Supply Park for a disturbance. Arriving officers found a husband and wife arguing.

On 04/20/2023 officers responded to the 1400 block of N. Main St to investigate an alarm.

On 04/21/2023, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of E. 8thousand St, for domestic disorder. Law enforcement officers who arrived found that the man had left for work.

On 04/21/2023 officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. 3rd St, for trespassing. Arriving officers found two brothers engaged in an argument. Neither of them wanted to press charges.

On February 22, 2023, officers were requested to assist with a civil matter involving personal property. Residents argued over who owned the property.

On 04/23/2023, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Holland Avenue for an unwanted guest. There, the female allowed the other male to stay, but now wanted her to leave.

On 04/23/2023, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Washington Street for an unruly juvenile. Upon arrival, the police met with the grandmother, who stated that her grandson was unruly. The teenager was taken by his mother.

On 04/24/2023, a patrol officer stopped a vehicle after the driver committed an offense. During the traffic stop, officers obtained probable cause to arrest the driver, Nicholas Austin, for DUI.

On April 24, 2023, employees were sent to the enterprise under E.5thousand St, for the unwelcome guest. The officer arrived to find the guest unhappy with his order. The guest was advised to leave the property.

On 04/25/2023, officers received a call from a female who reported that her juvenile son and daughter had been assaulted by another juvenile as they were walking home from school.

On 04/26/2023, a woman applied to the police station with a statement about an attack by her husband. Officers located the man, 27-year-old Aaron Deffenbaugh, and took him into custody for domestic violence. Deffenbaugh was taken to the Van Wert County Jail.

On 4/26/2023, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of N. Franklin Street for a domestic disturbance.

On 4-27-2023 officers became aware of an active warrant for the arrest of Mark Banbury, 43, of Delphos. Bunbury was found and taken into custody. Banbury was taken to the Van Wert County Jail.

On 04/28/2023, employees were sent to 100 block E.7thousand St, to investigate a possible burglary. Upon arrival, officers were advised that two males had left in a vehicle. Law enforcement officers located the car and two men. While investigating the incident, officers obtained probable cause to arrest the driver, Oscar Damien Hernandez Perez, for DUI. Perez was also charged with driving without a license.

On 4/30/2023, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. 6thousand St, for trespassing. Upon arrival, officers met with a female who stated she wanted the male guest removed from the home. The male left when asked. Officers were brought back to the residence a short time later due to the man returning. Officers spoke with the female and she stated the male returned and damaged the window. The female asked the male to leave and did not want to press charges.

On 04/30/2023, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Climb Street for a report of a male threatening to harm himself. Officers were unable to locate the man as he had left the home. Family members were contacted and reported that he was fine.
