Bill Gates uses this sophisticated phone and it is not from Microsoft

Bill Gates is the founder of Microsoft, so most people expect him to use his own brand products. But over the years Gates has moved away from the obvious, likely to keep a close eye on what the competition is doing. And recently it was found using a sophisticated device that is not from Microsoft. In fact, Gates was honest enough to talk about the specific brand and model he uses.

The Microsoft founder revealed during Reddit AMA this week that it uses the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 as the primary smartphone for everyday use. We’re not very surprised to hear this from Gates, especially when he’s been talking about using Android phones for years.

But the way he concretized the name of the device suggests that he finds the use case impressive and practical for his needs.

During AMA Gates mentioned the size of the Fold display, it can use it as a “laptop” and nothing else. Reports also hint that Samsung and its partnership with Microsoft could play a big role in choosing its device.

Most Samsung devices today come with pre-installed Microsoft programs such as Office, Office 365 and more. So perhaps the use of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 allows it to stay connected to the Microsoft ecosystem and still use the futuristic device as a daily driver.

Microsoft has its own sophisticated Surface Duo, which received version 2.0 last year. The device runs on Android, which has been heavily configured to look like Windows from Microsoft. The first product was found to be too expensive, while the second generation Duo managed to redeem with the best equipment on board, offering a 5G connection, the price went up even higher.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes in a similar price range and offers the user an exquisite product that might appeal to Gates and other buyers who use this sophisticated device.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected in the coming months, perhaps Gates is also heading for it.
