Two wins, one loss for the boys
The Yellow Springs High School varsity basketball team added two wins and a loss to its season with wins over East Dayton Christian on Monday, Jan. 9, and Jefferson High School on Tuesday, Jan. 10; and a loss after facing Dayton Christian on Friday, January 13th.
The Bulldogs played East Dayton Christian at home, coming out on top 52-50. Junior starter Samuel Miller led the team with 17 points, followed by senior JP Anderson with 15.
The boys dominated Jefferson High School 58–28 at home, with Miller once again leading the way with 15 points, followed by sophomore Landon Harris with 10.
The team lost to Dayton Christian at home, 30–65; individual statistics for this game have not yet been reported.
The team’s current record for the season is 6–8, with a conference record of 1–5.
The Bulldogs will take on Legacy Christian Academy on Friday, January 20th with a 7:30pm start at home.
The girls get to the warriors
On Thursday, January 12th, the Jallow Springs High School girls varsity basketball team took on Dayton Christian; The Bulldogs lost to the Warriors, 18–47, at home. Sophomore Jame Brizwell led the Bulldogs with 8 points, followed by freshman Tavy Johnson’s three.
The team’s current record on the season is 0-5, with a conference record of 0-4.
The next game is at home on Thursday, January 19th, starting at 6:45 pm, against Legacy Christian Academy at home.
BOWLING
Warriors of the best bulldogs
The Yellow Springs High School boys and girls bowling teams met Dayton Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 17, but both were defeated by their opponents, the girls’ team 970 pins to 1340 and the boys’ 1863 to 1953. Senior Angelina Tatman and sophomore Stefan Royalston led the Bulldogs in pins with 230 and 336 points in the two games, respectively.
The women’s team’s current season record is 0–3 and the conference record is 0–2. The boys’ record for the season is 3–4, with a conference record of -4.
Both teams will take on Greenview High School on Friday, January 20, starting at 4:00 pm in the Beaver-Woo Bowl.
