TOLEDO, OH – Editor’s Note: The above video first aired on February 6 and is about a proposed project in Oregon.

A portion of Central Avenue in west Toledo will close at the end of the month for approximately 150 days.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is replacing the bridge on Central Road between Reynolds and Corey roads. The bridge is over the Ottawa River near Wildwood Metropark.

Construction will begin on February 27. A detour is proposed along I-475 around the project.

The existing bridge was built in 1928 and expanded in 1975. It is considered functionally obsolete.

The new bridge will have four lanes of traffic with a turning lane in the middle. There will also be a sidewalk and a multi-purpose path.
