A spokesman for the Columbus Police Department said Knipper has returned to her duties after a court overturned the suspension of her privileges.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An officer with Columbus Police Dept who was charged earlier this year with drag racing and DUI, is back at work while her case goes through court.

According to court records, Trier Knipper, 27, who is a Columbus police officer, was driving westbound on Interstate 270 in a car with her girlfriend, Paige Slyman, 26, when Slyman was pulled over by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper. for speeding.

A video recorder from an OSHP cruiser shows Kniper and her friend drive past the trooper before pulling over to the side of the road.

Knipper can be heard on body camera video saying that when she saw Slyman being pulled over, she simply pulled over with her.

Kniper and Slyman were clocked going 100 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to OSHP records.

OSHP dashcam video shows Kniper and her friend taking field sobriety tests before being placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence.

Slyman took a breathalyzer test and was found to be under the influence of alcohol, while Knipper refused all tests, records show.

Records show both women received three charges during the Jan. 3 stop: driving under the influence, speeding and drag racing/street racing.

A spokesman for the Columbus Police Department said Knipper has returned to her duties after a court overturned the suspension of her privileges.

The next hearing in Kniper’s case is scheduled for April 24.

Slyman pleaded guilty on February 8, sentencing is scheduled for April 11.
