Ohio BCI says there is an officer involved shooting in the Short North. The other two shootings left two people dead.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Police Department is investigating three separate shootings across the city overnight Saturday, including one that left great response from the police on Short North.
Dispatchers say the shooting happened in the 600 block of North High Street near East Russell Street.
Dispatchers told 10TV there were several injuries, but further information on their conditions was not immediately available. Police did not immediately release information on a possible suspect.
The Columbus Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating two other shootings that occurred on the north and south sides of the city, respectively.
In the south of Columbus, police say a man was shot in the stomach on East Whittier Street. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he later died.
In the area of South Lipa, one person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting on St. Clair Ave. One of the victims was believed to be the gunman, police said.
Officers told 10TV a woman was killed. Her identity has not been released.
Two other victims were taken to local hospitals in critical condition. One of those victims includes the suspected shooter.
Police say a fourth victim is in hospital and is listed in stable condition.
