Over the past week, dozens of senior officials in Washington, D.C., have tested positive for COVID-19. Many attended the Gridiron Club’s annual dinner last Saturday, for which guests were required to show evidence of vaccination but were not required to take a negative COVID test or wear a mask. Lana Zack of CBS News is sitting down with Dr. Jay Varma, director of the Center for Pandemic Prevention and Response at Weill Cornell Medicine, to discuss the outbreak.
