Dr. Andy Hutton will take up the position from 1 August. He is the current Deputy Superintendent of Instruction and Leadership for Upper Arlington City Schools.
FINDLAY, Ohio – Findlay City Schools elected Dr. Andy Hutton as Superintendent on August 1st.
Hutton, elected by the FCS Board of Education, is the current associate superintendent for instruction and leadership at Upper Arlington City Schools in central Ohio.
“He brings a unique skill set that will enhance our district in many areas, including increasing our academic achievement, which aligns with our strategic plan,” FCS Board of Education President Matt Cooper said in a news release Tuesday. “He also possesses strong leadership skills that will facilitate collaboration with community members, parents, administrators, teachers and students. We believe in Dr. Hutton and are confident in his ability to lead our district to the top while communicating progress to all stakeholders.”
Hutton will succeed previous FCS Superintendent Troy Roth, who announced his departure from the district in February 2022 to become superintendent of Bellevue City Schools in August 2022.
Hutton holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ohio Wesleyan University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Ohio State University, and a doctorate of education in educational leadership from Miami University.
He spent most of his professional career in central Ohio. Prior to his current position with Upper Arlington City Schools, Hutton was a middle school teacher in Columbus City Schools, principal of Dempsey Middle School in Delaware City Schools, and director of curriculum in Dublin City Schools.
His five-year superintendent’s license was issued by the Ohio Department of Education on June 28, 2022 and expires on June 30, 2027.
