House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s January 6 release of nearly 40,000 hours of tapes of Fox News host Tucker Carlson has sparked backlash from Republican lawmakers. It also comes as Fox News defends itself against a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems. Recently released court documents in that lawsuit allege that Fox executives had doubts about the network’s coverage of the 2020 election.
