Hydrant flushing begins Monday in the city of Bath

BAT GUARANTEE – From Monday, the fire brigade of the village of Bat will conduct spring maintenance and washing of fire hydrants on all city hydrants. The testing will last about three weeks.

Residents may notice discoloration of the water when flushing occurs in their neighborhood. If you experience a change in the color of the water, turn on the plumbing until the water is clear. It is best to first run a street lamp or faucet with cold water in the laundry or bath until the water is clear, and then run the water from other appliances.

Fire Chief Joe Kitchen said the department understands that flushing hydrants can cause some inconvenience, but it is necessary to maintain a good water supply for firefighting and ensure proper working condition of hydrants.
