Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian telecommunications sector for the rapid transition from 2G, then 3G to 4G and is now heading towards the 5G network and eventually 6G in the near future. He spoke on the sidelines of the celebration of the Silver Anniversary of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). He celebrated the event by issuing a postage stamp with the TRAI logo and 25 years of approval on it.
Prime Minister Modi also spoke about the “sustainability, self-confidence and multiplier effect” created by healthy competition in the Indian telecommunications sector. “Our telecommunications sector is a great example of how independence and healthy competition create a multiplier effect in society and the economy. Coming out of the despair, frustration, corruption and political paralysis of the 2G era, the country quickly moved from 3G to 4G, and now to 5G and 6G, ”added Prime Minister Modi.
