Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks has announced the return of the 41st annual Jazz & Rib Fest.

After a two-year break due to COVID-19 the festival will take place from Friday, July 22, to Sunday, July 24, at Bicentennini and West Bank parks on the Scioto mile.

According to a department release, Jazz & Rib Fest performances are expected all weekend. Among the artists:

  • Robert Glasper, speaking July 22 from 6.30pm to 8pm
  • Lala Hathaway, performing July 22 from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.
  • Spanish Harlem Orchestra, performing on July 23 from 6.30pm to 8pm
  • Bonnie James, performing July 23 from 9pm to 10.30pm
  • Kirk Wellum, performing July 24 from 4pm to 5.30pm
  • Dee Dee Bridgewater of the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, performing July 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Director of the Department of Recreation and Parks of Columbus Bernita Reese expressed how happy she is that the streets near the River Scotland are filled with live music and people are rejoicing.

“It has been Columbus’ main product for over 40 years and a major summer event. With our huge cast and, of course, first-class barbecue, we look forward to a great event that will be fun for everyone, ”Reese said in the state.

In addition, BBQ Week will also return a week before the festival. The style of the “Restaurant Week” event was introduced last year as a way to support local restaurants during a pandemic.
