LAS VEGAS – ESPN College GameDay analyst and former Ohio state defender Kirk Herbstreet will not be taking part in this year’s NFL draft coverage due to health issues.
On Monday, in a video on Twitter, Herbstreet said doctors had recently discovered a blood clot in his system.
He added that he felt “good” but decided to take a step back from covering this year’s call because of the “abundance of caution”.
Herbstreet partially said: “Our team in Vegas will be covered by this and I will watch. Congratulations to all the players! I love this event and look forward to returning next year.”
A native of Centerville, Herbstreet served as a defender in Ohio Bakaise from 1989 to 1992. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1993 with a degree in business administration and was recognized as one of “The most powerful media personalities in sports” Sporting News magazine, among other achievements.
