COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kroger closed one of its grocery stores in southeast Columbus.

The store and fuel center, located at Refugee Road, 4485, is permanently closed on Friday, according to Kroger’s Columbus division.

Kroger said the store lost profits despite failed attempts to increase sales and customer traffic.

Employees will be considered for redirection to other Kroger locations.

Kroger said he was in talks with the Mid-Ohio Food Collective to redefine the site.

“The Collective Food Organization in mid-Ohio, with Kroger’s assistance, plans to continue to provide food for the community with the added benefits of a community resource center that offers community support services,” Kroger said in a release.
