A possible failure is forming at the sewer repair site on LaGrange Street between Page and Yates Streets. It is planned that the road will be closed for a week.

TOLEDO, Ohio – A the road is closed and a “potential sinkhole” is developing at the site of a sewer repair project in north Toledo.

LaGrange Street is closed between Yates and Page streets and should reopen in a week. The closure is due to sewer repairs, according to a news release from the city of Toledo.

According to a social media post from the city of Toledo, a “possible sinkhole” developed in the area Wednesday afternoon. City officials are assessing the damage and the need for repairs. There are no casualties.

The cause of the failure on Lagrange Street and whether it is related to sewer repairs is not yet known.

This is the second sinkhole in recent months in northern Toledo. At the end of November a A pipeline failed about two miles from here at Galena and Chase streetsresulting in significant flooding in the area.

The detour during the repairs is on Sherman Street to Cherry Street and Manhattan Boulevard in both directions.
