TOLEDO, Ohio – A man was seriously injured after he was hit with a shovel in east Toledo Wednesday morning.

Toledo police received a call around 1:30 a.m. that a man was attacking another man with a shovel at 4:00 p.m. on the block of Botkins Drive near Miami Street. WTOL reported that the altercation led to an altercation.

Police arrived at the scene and found the victim lying on the grass, seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

TPD arrested the suspect at the scene.

A neighbor told WTOL it was a scary place and they thought the man was dead because he was still being attacked as he lay helpless on the ground.
