Montana’s TikTok ban and school textbook ban raise First Amendment concerns – CBS News

Montana became the first state in the US to outright ban TikTok after Republican Governor Greg Gianforte signed the bill into law on Wednesday. In addition, the writers’ advocacy group PEN America and publisher Penguin Random House sued the Florida school district for banning the books. CBS News legal staff Jessica Levinson examines the First Amendment issues of both questions.
