Authorities said the closure would last less than seven hours.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol announced Wednesday that it will close a portion of eastbound I-80/I-90 in Fulton and Lucas counties overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

In a Twitter post, the Ohio Turnpike announced the closure and said that the sidewalk needed urgent repairs. It is expected to start at 11pm on Wednesday and last less than seven hours. Authorities said they will release updated information when the roadway is reopened.

The closure covers about 13 miles of eastbound lanes from MP 29 to MP 52 from Fulton to Lucas County.

Employees of the barrier allocated two detours for motorists. The primary diversion takes place along the following route:

  • Take the Ohio exit at Toll Plaza 39 to SR 109 south
  • Turn left onto SR 2 east/US 20 Alt east
  • Enter the Ohio Turnpike at Toll Plaza 52

An alternative diversion takes place along the following route:

  • Take the Ohio exit at Toll Plaza 39 to SR 109 north
  • Turn right onto US 20 east
  • Turn right onto SR 295 south
  • Enter the Ohio Turnpike at Toll Plaza 52
