Matthew Allen of Brendan, Florida, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra north on I-71 when he drove off the roadway and crashed into a middle rope barrier. This led to the fact that his car returned to the northern carriageway and collided with another vehicle, according to OSHP.

The 2019 Freightliner Cascadia was moving north on I-71 when it crashed into a Hyundai, causing both vehicles to derail and crash into a middle barrier. Then Freightliner rolled over.

The OHSP said Allen was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Freightliner driver was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the OSHP reported.

The OSHP said both drivers were wearing seat belts.

This accident continues to be investigated.
