The police report that the student is unharmed.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — The Madison Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly tried to abduct a girl as she walked to school Friday morning.
Police say the student was walking North Groveport Madison Middle School. She was then approached by a man driving a white pickup truck in the area of Clearwater Drive and Fullerton Drive.
The girl’s parents managed to stop the officer who was nearby. After that, the man left the scene.
The police report that the student is unharmed.
The police department asked neighbors in the area who have security footage to help officers identify the suspect.
The man is described as 5ft 6in to 6ft tall with a moustache, goatee and shaggy hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.
The vehicle is a 2007 or newer four-door Chevy truck with a distinctive light bar on the rear, running boards, and lots of brake dust on the rims and wheel wells.
Police say the truck circled the area several times before it spoke to the child.
