Powerball numbers for January 9, 2023

WASHINGTON — As the new year approaches, the Powerball jackpot grows.

The jackpot has grown to $340 million after no one hit Saturday’s jackpot. $178.2 million lump sum payout in Monday night’s Powerball drawing.

Monday’s winning numbers were 18-43-48-60-69 Powerball 14 and Power Play 3.

Powerball isn’t the only exciting lottery this week. The Mega Millions jackpot soared to more than $1 billion in Tuesday’s drawing and hasn’t seen a winner in more than two months.

Last Powerball Jackpot the victory was in mid-November. In early November, I bought a one-way ticket in California won a record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are a paltry 1 in 292.2 million.

Powerball is played in 45 states as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Over the past few years, huge lottery jackpots have become more common as lottery officials have changed the rules and ticket prices to increase the top prizes. The last major adjustment was made in 2021, when Powerball officials added the Monday drawing to the weekly slate of Wednesday and Saturday evening drawings.
