Qualcomm has introduced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chips, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 for next-generation smartphones

Chipmaker Qualcomm on Friday announced the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platforms for the next generation of premium and high-end Android smartphones focused on gaming and high-speed connectivity. Thanks to an improved Qualcomm Adreno graphics processor, the Snapdragon 8+ claims to provide up to 10 percent higher speeds and a 30 percent reduction in power to ensure maximum gameplay.

Users can expect up to 60 extra minutes of gameplay with the Snapdragon 8+, which also features a Qualcomm Kryo processor with up to 10% faster processing and up to 30% energy efficiency improvements.

“In the mobile segment, our main focus is on providing new, innovative features and technologies for the industry as well as for our customers’ flagship devices. We are implementing these features first in our Snapdragon 8 series and then implementing them in our mobile roadmap, ”said Christopher Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm mobile phones.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will be adopted by the world’s leading OEMs and brands including ASUS ROG, Black Shark, HONOR, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, OSOM, realme, RedMagic, Redmi, vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE. with commercial devices that are expected to be available in the third quarter of 2022.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has the latest technology, such as 8K HDR video recording, and is capable of shooting in HDR10 + premium format. On the other hand, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 offers a wide range of in-demand features and technologies to more people around the world.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will emulate the world’s leading OEMs and brands including HONOR, OPPO and Xiaomi, and commercial devices are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2022.

Adreno’s improved graphics processor in Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 provides more than 20 percent faster graphics rendering. This platform also supports an exciting Quad HD + display and enhanced anti-counter audio for multiplayer gaming.

It has a Qualcomm ‘Spectra Triple ISP’, so users can shoot simultaneously from three cameras or take photos with a resolution of 200 MP – for the first time in the Snapdragon 7 series.

“Users can take advantage of chess 4K HDR, which creates photos with incredible contrast, sharpness and realism, creating peak brightness and deep black,” the company said.
