Rihanna’s halftime show sparked some serious speculation – and it turns out fans were right about her ‘surprise guest’.

Turns out Rihanna had a guest on her Super Bowl halftime show — just not the one fans were expecting. She is pregnant!

Rihanna’s representatives confirmed the news on Sunday night The Hollywood Reporter and Rolling Stone. After the high-energy show, social media ran wild with speculation, with fans wondering if Rihanna was showing off her baby bump under the skin-tight layer of her red suit.

More details about the singer’s pregnancy, including how far along she was, were not available.

One of the first real confirmations appeared to come from CBS News anchor and former NFL wide receiver Nate Burleson, who interviewed Rihanna before the performance. Responding to a viewer who wondered if the baby was the “surprise guest” Rihanna hinted at, Burleson replied “Bingo!”

34-year-old Rihanna gave birth to her first child in May 2022 with rapper A$AP Rocky. In a media preview ahead of the Super Bowl, she said motherhood made her feel ready for her first live performance in years.

“When you become a mother, something just happens, when you feel like you can take over the world, you can do anything. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world.” she said. “There’s something exciting about it all.”

Rihanna is a nine-time Grammy Award winner with 14 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits, including “We Found Love,” “Work,” “Umbrella” and “Disturbia.” She ended 2022 by releasing two singles on the soundtrack to Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, “lift me up” and “Born Again”.
