When Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse played the CMSD Senate Athletic League basketball championships in February, thousands more than sat in chairs, watched home games and for the first time were able to do so thanks to Senate Live, a streaming partnership between CMSD and DistrictWON that launched in January. At the beginning of a three-year contract for which CMSD pays nothing, but children, parents and administrators are already enthusiastic about the streaming site, which has expanded coverage of the entire athletics range, including not only basketball but also swimming, track meet and compete.
