Deputies said the father shot three children and another man before turning the gun on himself.

SACRAMENT, California – A spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Sergeant. Rod Grassman says five people died after Fr. the shooting of the church in the Ardennes area.

According to him, three children under the age of 15 were among the dead. The suspect was a father who, according to Grasman, killed himself. Details of the fifth person are not available at this time, but Grasman said the three children killed were the suspect’s own children.

Grasman said the shooting took place in the church’s main shrine. The worker heard a shot around 5:07 p.m., left the area and called 911.

The type of gun used in the deadly shooting is still unknown, and Grasman said the sheriff’s office called the shooting an incident involving “domestic violence.”

What led these people to the church, deputies do not know. The victims have not been identified yet.

A large police presence remains near the church along Wyda Way, not far from Arden Way. Officers from the Sacramento Police Department, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the California Road Patrol are at the scene. Authorities are asking people who could see what happened on Wyda Way to call 911.

Gov. Gavin News called the act “another pointless act of gun violence.”
