“Leaving the Station” is one of two quest rooms in the Heritage Village Museum that you can try.

If you want to learn a little more about the local history and solve some fun puzzles along the way, the Heritage Village Museum in Charranville is bringing back a series of escape rooms this season.

Village Escape consists of two unique quest rooms set in an authentic historic building with artifacts from the 19th century.

One of the quests, “Leaving the Station,” takes place at the Chester Park Railroad Station and is based on the first train robbery in the United States, which took place in North Bend on May 5, 1865. You will receive hints at the station agent who will help you get to the office and call for help before the time runs out.

And Morgan’s Raiders of the Lost Art is an art heist based on Confederate General John Hunt Morgan’s raid in the Cincinnati area in 1863. In the escape room, your task is to find the artwork they stole and hid in the shop. Morgan’s men return for him.

Quests take place on the third Saturday of every month from March to September. There are three time slots for each room: noon, 1:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Each room can accommodate four to eight people, and admission is $25 per person.

The Heritage Village Museum is located behind the Sharon Center in Sharon Woods. You may need a Great Parks of Hamilton County permit to enter the park.
