The hotel is offering fans of the franchise a two-night stay aboard the star cruiser Halcyon at a great price.
WASHINGTON — Disney World’s iconic Star Wars hotel, known primarily to fans for its expensive price tag, is closing its doors in September. the company announced on Friday.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Adventure, which offers fans of the franchise an immersive two-night stay aboard the fictional ship Halcyon, will have its last bookings from September 28-30. The first Star Wars hotel of its kind debuted a little over a year ago.
“We are so proud of all the cast members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life, and we look forward to providing guests with great experiences on the remaining voyages in the coming months. Thank you to our guests and fans for making this experience so special,” the company said in a statement.
Disney said new room reservations at the hotel are temporarily suspended as they accept guests who booked their stay no later than September 30. Reservations will resume on May 26.
The entertainment company said the closure was a “business decision” but did not share further details. This is reported by CNN.
Two-night “trips” range from $4,800 to $6,000, depending on the number of guests. The high price tag guarantees accommodation, meals and entrance to Hollywood studios, as well as the appearance of the characters of the franchise on board the ship.
“This premium boutique has given us the opportunity to try new things in a smaller footprint of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its latest journey, we will use what we have learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests . and fans,” a company spokesperson said in a statement on Friday.
