BAT TOWN – Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will team up with the Three Mare Audubon Society to visit various birdwatching sites, with cars leaving at 6:30 a.m. May 16 from the McAlroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Road, Lima. .
This is the peak of migration for songbirds, and the bird trip will begin with the waterfront at Magi March west of Port Clinton and may include a tour of Ottawa’s National Wildlife Refuge in Oak Harbor and the Howard March near Toledo.
Experienced and novice poultry farmers are invited, and participants can stay and watch the birds until the evening.
Appropriate clothing, shoes, binoculars, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, drinks and field guides are recommended.
