TALEDA, Ohio – Police are investigating after officers found a man shot dead in northern Toledo on Friday afternoon.

Officers who responded to a warning from the city’s ShotSpotter system went for a check in the 200th quarter on Mettler Street shortly before 1pm on Friday.

They found two men on the back porch of the house, one of whom was shot in the lower right leg.

Police said officers tried to provide first aid to the man before the arrival of Toledo Fire and Rescue crews.

The man went for treatment to Mercy Health St. Vincent.

The Toledo Police Detective Bureau is conducting an investigation.
