COLUMBUS, Ohio — A crime spree in the Short North and Driving Park neighborhoods last week resulted in nearly three dozen arrests, the seizure of 15 illegal weapons and the seizure of more than 200 grams of drugs.

On Monday, the Columbus Police Department announced the results of its sixth installment of Operation Unity, a joint effort between law enforcement and social services to fight crime in certain parts of the city.

Officers carried out patrol operations in the two areas for almost 24 hours between Friday and Saturday morning.

Police said several units, including SWAT and narcotics units, executed search warrants and launched a targeted crackdown on violent offenders, seizing firearms and seizing illegal drugs.

Officers issued 281 citations and made two OVI arrests during traffic stops.
