LIMA — A Harrod man pleaded guilty Monday to attempted kidnapping, a second-degree felony, and domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

Craig Stauffer, 54, was initially charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and domestic violence against Patricia Wolford on July 2. He was charged with using a knife to commit an offence. The kidnapping charge was reduced to attempted kidnapping and the assault charge was dropped after negotiations with the state.

Stauffer faces two to 13 years in prison or community control. He could be ordered to pay a fine of up to $20,000 upon conviction.

At 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Reed ordered a preliminary investigation completed before Stauffer’s sentencing.
