James Tyrell Hairston was arrested and jailed Friday night for the July 5 killing of Ennis Purifi at Central Avenue and Jeep Pkwy.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio – A man wanted in connection with a killing in downtown Toledo this summer has been arrested and charged Lucas County Jail on Friday evening.

James Hairston, 30, was wanted in connection with the July 5 slaying of Anise Purifi, 24, who was killed at Central Avenue and Jeep Pkwy.

Hairston has been on the run since the shooting.

Another man, 22-year-old Jerome Hornbeak, was arrested on the day of the crime.

Police say Purifi was found in the early morning hours of July 5 in his vehicle with six gunshot wounds.

Purifi was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Hairston is charged with aggravated murder.
