Zach Fox is from Waterville but is based in Englewood, Florida which is about a 15 minute drive from Punta Gorda. He is currently there on business and has decided to wait out the storm with the other housemates. He said the orders to evacuate came later than they expected and they felt they were ready to sit down.
Fox said wind speeds were incredibly high throughout the day on Wednesday. Also, the water outside the house he is in has risen very high, but he has managed to keep most of the water out of the house.
Being originally from Ohio, Zach tells me this storm is unlike anything he’s ever experienced.
“It’s a little nerve-wracking, but I think we’re prepared to the point that everything will be fine. You know, we’re trying to make sure the wind is going to pick up a lot,” Fox said.
While cell service went in and out, Zach’s family said he was fine.
