COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus Police Dept is now investigating a shooting that happened in Hilltop nearly six months ago as a homicide after the victim recently died.

The shooting happened on March 26 in the area of ​​North Harris Avenue near Steele Avenue just after 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, identified as 27-year-old Elizabeth Brice, lying in the garage. Police said she was shot twice.

Brice was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Police said Brice died of her injuries on September 26.

The next day, the Franklin County Coroner ruled the cause of death a homicide. The homicide unit is now investigating the shooting.

Her death was the 106th homicide investigation in Columbus this year.
