The Google Pixel 7 series will be released in a couple of weeks, and this is likely to include India this year, as confirmed by the company. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were revealed at Google’s I/O 2022 keynote earlier this year, and now we’ll be seeing the devices in person very soon, with an October 6 launch not too far away.

But ahead of this week’s launch, prices for the Pixel 7 series have been leaked, and it looks like Google wants to take an aggressive route to make its new Pixel flagships a success in the market. The leak suggests that the Pixel 7 will be priced around $599 (Rs. 48,000 approx), while the Pixel 7 Pro is likely to be priced around $899 (Rs. 72,000 approx).

But should buyers in India wait for the new Pixel 7 series at these prices? We’re afraid it’s impossible. Another leak says that prices for the Pixel 7 series will start at Rs 52,000, which is also excluding discounts. So, expect a starting price of around Rs 55,000 for the vanilla Pixel 7 and a much higher Rs 75,000 for the Pixel 7 Pro variant. But why such a big difference in prices?

As we’ve seen with the Pixel 6a and even the iPhone 14 series, the Indian prices of these phones include additional taxes and duties, so you’re getting the Pixel 6a in India for Rs 43,999 on a non-sale day. While the iPhone 14 Pro starts at Rs 1,29,900, which is almost Rs 40,000 more than what this model will cost you in the US.

Either way, it’s good to see Google bringing the Pixel 7 series to the Indian market this year, its first Pixel flagship in the country after the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

The new Pixel 7 features Google’s second-generation Tensor chip and should ship with Android 13 out of the box. Cameras will be important to everyone, and we’ll be waiting to see if the new pixels will match this year’s flagship iPhones. Stay tuned to News18 Tech for all the updates to the Pixel 7 series that will launch in India in the coming weeks.
