The “hot girl hike” is a trend that started during the pandemic and quickly spread on social media. It’s a simple form of outdoor exercise that anyone can do, but with a purpose.

The Hot Girls Walk is a simple walk outside that promotes empowerment and self-care.

Director of the Family Medicine Program at Dublin Methodist Hospital, Benjamin Bring, DOspoke with 10TV about this trend and its benefits.

“There’s a ton of research that shows the cardiovascular benefits of walking,” Dr. Bring told 10TV. “Even if you just go for a 30-minute walk, it can be the equivalent of a longer run.”

According to Dr. Bring, walking is also great for your heart, lungs and leg muscles.

So how do you get in on the trend and take your #HotGirlWalk? 10TV listed three simple tips to get you started:

  1. The recommended walk length for a hot girl is around four miles, although any distance is fine. Four miles gives you a healthy workout and plenty of time to decompress.
  2. Then you can listen to a motivational playlist or podcast to help you stay focused and feel empowered.
  3. Another key to walking is feeling good inside and out. Be sure to wear an outfit that makes you feel powerful.
