Over the past few days, there have been several instances of wrong products being delivered to e-commerce consumers. An IIM Ahmedabad student recently ordered a laptop during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale for his father, but got ‘Ghadi’ detergent bars instead. Now, a similar incident happened in Bihar where a man ordered a drone camera from Micho but received a potato.
Yes, you read that right. When his order arrived, the man videotaped the unwrapping of the package because he seemed suspicious. He asked the delivery man to open the package, after which it turns out that there are potatoes in the package. In the video, an upset customer accuses the company of cheating.
According to India Today, the buyer is Chetan Kumar, a businessman from Parwalpur in Nalanda. According to reports, Meesho said it has initiated a refund and is continuing to investigate the matter.
The clip was shared on Twitter. Watch this video here:

A viewer claimed in the comments section that he too was tricked by Michaud, who sent him a polyester shirt instead of the one he ordered.

Mere saath bhi hua tha…
Kuchh din pahle.
Main suti Shirt order kiya tha.
Mujhe karke bhej diya wo bhi bina sila hua pack of polyester shirts.

Some asked the man how he first became suspicious.
How did he know the box contained potatoes and not the drone he ordered without opening it??

Others have shared similar incidents of incorrect deliveries by Flipkart and Amazon
I ran into a similar problem on @amazon. ordered three items, chocolate, gym equipment and a hard drive. The Choco was delivered first and I was told the other products would also be delivered separately. Then came the gym equipment, I thought the hard drive would come later. But it was in it, I haven’t received it yet

Many cases of such fraud have been reported in the past. A person from Mumbai named Ashok Bhambhani recently ordered a OnePlus 10T smartphone for Rs. 54,999 from Amazon, but he ended up with an Exo dishwashing liquid bar. He made this purchase during the ‘Amazon Great Indian Sale’. Similarly, a customer named Arpit Mehrotra ordered an Apple watch but received a Noise watch instead.
