Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch 5G services India September 30 at 10.00. The three major telecom operators – Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea – will each present one use case to the Prime Minister to showcase the potential of 5G technology in India.

Reliance Jio will connect a teacher from a school in Mumbai to students in three different locations in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Odisha. It will demonstrate how 5G will facilitate learning by bringing teachers closer to students, removing the physical distance between them. It will demonstrate the power of augmented reality (AR) on screen and how it is being used to teach children across the country, remotely, without the need for an AR device.

In Airtel’s demonstration, a girl from Uttar Pradesh will witness a live and immersive educational experience to learn about the solar system through virtual and augmented reality. The girl will share her learning experience with the prime minister, appearing on the chart through a hologram.

The Vodafone Idea test will demonstrate the safety of workers in the under-construction Delhi Metro tunnel by creating a digital duplicate of the tunnel on dias. A digital twin will help provide real-time safety alerts to workers from a remote location. PM will take a live demonstration from dias to control the work in real time using VR and AI.

The Prime Minister will visit the exhibition and witness a demonstration of the use of 5G technology in various fields. The various use cases that will be demonstrated to PM at the show include drone-based precision farming; High-security routers and an artificial intelligence-based cyber threat detection platform; automated guided vehicles; Ambupod – Smart Ambulance; Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality education and skill development; Waste water monitoring system; Smart-Agri Program; Health diagnostics, among other things.

5G technology offers a wide range of benefits to ordinary people. This will help ensure seamless coverage, high data rates, low latency and highly reliable connectivity. In addition, it will improve energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency. 5G technology will help connect billions of IoT devices, enable better video services with high-speed mobility, provide critical services such as telesurgery and autonomous cars, among others.
