Apple has gone through many phases of its rumored car project, never confirming or denying its existence, according to ArenaEV. Industry analysts have predicted the Apple Car for years, starting as a simple city car, now looks more like a fully autonomous car that requires no input from the driver, the report said.

Project Titan began life in 2014, when Apple created a so-called shell company — SixtyEight Research — to work on the car project. The project has been marred by many changes, teams leaving, project direction completely changing, sudden leadership changes. Bob Mansfield, who was Apple’s vice president of technology, is currently leading the project.
