Google Pixel watch with AMOLED display and WearOS unveiled: all the details

The Google Pixel Watch has been officially unveiled, and once again we’ve had a good look at what the Pixel smartwatch will look like. Google claims it built the Pixel Watch to be your everyday piece of gear that doubles as a smartphone on your wrist. It has an AMOLED display with thick bezels that Google is proud to show off. It is powered by an Exynos chipset and runs on the WearOS platform.

The Google Pixel Watch comes in Wi-Fi only and LTE variants priced at $349 (Rs 28,269 approx) and $399 (Rs 32,000 approx) respectively. As of now, the Pixel Watch is coming to select markets except India.

Google Pixel Watch features

The Pixel Watch’s body is made from 80 percent recycled materials, something we’ve seen Samsung and Apple use these days as well. The strap has a soft-touch finish that’s unique to the Pixel Watch. It weighs 36 grams without the strap, so it’s easy to wear all day and even while sleeping. Google has thoughtful straps that fit both small and large wrist sizes.

It works with any Android phone running version 8.0 or later. The Pixel Watch has an AMOLED display that supports the Always-on display feature and provides a pixel density of 320 ppi with a brightness of up to 1000 nits.

The Pixel Watch is powered by WearOS 3.5, powered by an Exynos 9110 SoC with 2GB of RAM, and offers 32GB of internal storage for apps, watch faces, and more. You can control the Pixel Watch using the side button and the tactile watch head. Most Google apps work on the Pixel Watch, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and 5ATM water resistance. Google ships a magnetic charging pad with the Pixel Watch bundled.
