Maa Durga will witness its first ever ‘MetaPujo’ as iconic Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata like Ahiritola Sarbojanin, Deshapriya Park, Ballygunge Cultural and Tala Prattay pandals will be available through 3D twins in the meta universe. While you will obviously miss the real atmosphere of physically attending Durga Puja in Kolkata, you can experience the real thrill of pandal hopping while sitting anywhere in the world.

MetaPujo is an initiative of Metaform and XP&DLAND. They planned centers around 3D recreations of pandals where users of “Spatial”, a meta-universe platform, can enter a shared social space where people from all over the world can gather, walk, interact and even take pictures. Users can also make a meta-realistic avatar of themselves. The platform is accessible to everyone through simple smartphones, tablets and wearable devices.

“This initiative gives Maa Durga an extended Web 3.0 address where devotees from around the world will be able to enter the three-dimensional reproduction of the pandals and take part in darshans from Kolkata’s most popular pandals. By doing so, visitors will be able to claim four NFTs of her idols that have been specially designed for the occasion, each corresponding to one of the pandals,” said Sukrit Singh, co-founder of Metaform and XP&DLand.
MetaPujo will present four unique NFTs of Maa Durga idols from Kolkata’s most visited pandals; these include Deshapriya Park, Tala Prattai, Akhiritola Sarbajanin and Baliganj Cultural Complex. The four NFTs will be freely available on XP&DLand for fans and collectors who may wish to obtain them with their Web 3.0 wallets.
“Now it is not necessary to be in Kolkata to celebrate Puja. Meta pujos will allow people from all over the world to enter the meta twin pandal as family and friends – separated by physical distance but united in meta celebration,” said Suvir Bajaj, co-founder of Metaform and XP&DLand.
